Second Task

Corrigan arrives in Highmoon as Sycron sets the new challenge. He joins up with Club Doom, who are currently down several members. The missions it to go to a village in (?) which is being plagued by undead. To gain orders of merit, we must destroy the source of the undead and also bring back severed undead hands.

Before heading out, Corrigan researched the town at the Library of Highmoon. Scary Mrs. Seldom is the head librarian, and the only person Sycron fears. The only thing of major note in town is the Temple of the Three Moons. This temple is dedicated to the three goddesses of the moon: Artemis, Selene, and Hectate. Artemis lost all power in the recent Twilight Times.

In town, Club Doom is going up against Yarsa’s Avengers. They include an elven amazon with a spear, a big man with no armor (apparently a mage), and a tough brute warrior.

We find that a crazed priest out in the woods has been animating zombies. We dispatch him and kill a lot of undead. However, there is also something odd going on at the temple of the three moons.

During Club Doom’s investigation, we visit a witch’s cottage in the woods where a devotee to Hectate currently lives. She is a former devotee to Artemis formerly known as Harmonia but now known as Nix and devoted to Hectate. The loss of power to Artemis has had a strange effect of making her young and beautiful. She offers us a way into the temple of the three moons if we will remove a ring belonging to her from Artemis’s pool, thus removing her symbolic dedication to Artemis. Corrigan also makes a side deal with her. She gives him a ‘holy stone’, which seems to allow him to see beyond illusions and ethereal beings, in return for a favor to be named later. Corrigan suspects she has also made side deals with the other party members.

The party gets into the temple and deals with what happened in there, which is that a Feyr has formed and gone on a rampage. We remove the ring, but Corrigan does his best to screw Nix over by dropping an object he tried to dedicate to her into Selene’s pool. Kristiana later claims that Nix knows Corrigan has screwed her, but Corrigan doesn’t talk to her again.

The town gives Yarsa’s Avengers credit for destroying the undead because they found another source, but Sycron splits the credit.
